The work of the PTA happens only through the support of our family community. There is room for everyone to make a positive impact on school life. Big or small, once or all year long, EVERY effort is valued. Get involved in a way that works for you!
thurston PTA programs
We organize dozens of programs and activities to benefit students, families and Thurston staff. Here are a couple.
Visit our PROGRAMS page to learn about ALL the programs we support.
PTA helps Connect to staff.
Thurston PTA plans and provides a welcome back lunch in August, three potluck breakfasts over the year and a week of treats for national Teacher/Staff Appreciation week in May. A wonderful way to thanks to our hardworking staff!
PTA supports positive behavior.
Thurston PTA supports the student-run "Student Store". Students earn Live School points for positive behavior and shop the store at select lunches. PTA helps purchase swag (TMS hoodies, shades etc.) and drum up local goods like gift cards and surf wax.
PTA creates social opportunites.
Nerf war? 8th grade dance? Movie night? Game-a-thon? Beach meet up? New this year, Thurston PTA wants to plan a special social for each grade level. Volunteer to bring your creative ideas to help our students make positive social connections.
Raising between $50,000 - $90,000 annually, we are always looking for organized, fun leaders to help chair our three fundraisers!
2022-23 Fundraising GOAL: $76,000

EPIC Challenge & Winterfest is our largest fundraiser of the year. Gather donations from family and friends for a chance to earn fun prizes. Students compete in tug-a-war, 'chaos on the mountain' and snow sled challenges. The week ends with Winterfest after-school: food, games, and activities.
Summer is near which means baseball season is here! Join the entire Laguna Beach community in our private/group section. Purchase discounted tickets and opportunity drawing tickets from PTA for a chance to steal third and throw the first pitch. Laguna Beach Chorus also performs.

PTA is for everyone. Not just moms.
Help us add more voices to the work of PTA. We invite moms, dads, grandparents and community members to join Thurston PTA.
It's time to invite the men in your children’s lives to get involved! More engaged fathers and father figures can help foster a child’s healthy physical, emotional and social development.
